I add the rum when I serve each glass adjusting to those individual tastes. Some like it on the strong side and some prefer to leave out the rum.

Sounds delicious! Question …. Can/should I add the rum after blending (but before refrigerating) or do I have to add it to each glass individually?

Hi , I love simple recipes like these. The only thing I changed was instead of using tomato sauce I used salsa. It gave it a quick bite and added a little more Spanish flavor. Hope you don’t mind.

Comment on Carrot Cake Protein Pancakes Topped with Honey Yogurt by Sandra Shaffer https://www.thefoodieaffair.com/carrot-cake-protein-pancakes/#comment-196787 Tue, 02 Sep 2025 01:18:40 +0000 https://www.thefoodieaffair.com/?p=18077#comment-196787 In reply to Sally Macke.

Thanks for sharing your modifications, Sally. Almond flour can burn easily, so I imagine that the heat would need to be much lower than what we are used to.

I don’t know if that was the cause for them sticking (I wouldn’t think so) but my first batch stuck to the griddle and were a mess after turning. I added a teaspoon of vegetable oil to the remaining 1/3 batter and those pancakes turned much easier and came out whole.

I love this quick and easy iteration of Tom yum Soup. It works great for our household. One can modify the recipe to one’s desire. I add chicken cilantro wontons from Trader’s Joe’s…

Dude what are you even talking about? If you think that alcohol turns into sugar or that 6oz of whiskey “SPIKES” blood sugar you know literally nothing about chemistry or human physiology. You obviously think both so congrats, you are not only obnoxious but also extra ignorant.

Haters gonna hate, good recipe

I let this naturally release, which takes about 25 to 30 minutes. You can release early, just be careful!

Sorry about that. To clarify, the water and pectin is brought to a boil, then poured over the prepared peaches.

I made this tonight and it was easy, quick, delicious and healthy! I didn’t have turkey tenderloin but I had one and a half pounds of fresh turkey cutlets, which is what I used. I used the vegetables suggested but had to sub shredded cabbage for the Brussel sprouts. I added sliced carrots. I didn’t want to add anything with added sugar so I skipped it and added a squeeze of fresh lemon. The flavors were sweet due to the sweet potato and caramelized onion. It cooked quickly and we had to have seconds it was so good! I think this recipe would be delicious with chicken, too. Love the idea of combining white potato and sweet potatoes. So healthy!
